Educational Goals

 

Junior Year

• Gain a basic level of understanding surrounding nursing concepts​

• Gain hands-on experience with patients and supervised nursing care

• Graduate with my Bachelors in Science Nursing degree

• Decide what kind of advanced practice degree I want to pursue after graduation

• "Learn for a reason, and not for a season" and embark upon a career that encourages me to be a lifelong learner

Senior Year

• Pass the NCLEX

• Acquire a position in emergency medicine, trauma, or critical care nursing, hopefully in the field of pediatrics

• Complete PALS certification within 6 months of graduating

• Become a charge nurse on my workplace unit within 2 years of graduation

• Evaluate areas of interest for pursuit of my Doctoral education

• Pursue my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree within 5 years of graduating from BSN program

• Overall, continue to be a life long learner
